# Owner vs Limited roles

What Owner and Limited members can access in Manager, especially Settings, billing, and ticketing data.

When you invite someone to your organization, you choose their role. Cymbal has two host roles: **Owner** (full access) and **Limited**.

In the invite UI you may see labels like **Full access** (Owner) and **Limited access**. Both describe the same two roles.

## Owner

Owners manage the organization:

* Billing and plan changes
* Ticketing and Meta integrations
* Domains, DNS, email senders, link shorteners
* Phone numbers, reply forwarding, and [SMS usage metrics](https://docs.cymbal.co/help/sms/sms-usage-metrics)
* Inviting and managing members

Settings opens to **Organization** for Owners.

## Limited

Limited members can work in day-to-day marketing tabs but **cannot** open org-level Settings (billing, integrations, domain, Text, Pages settings). Choosing **Settings** lands them on **Personal** settings only.

Use Limited for agencies or staff who should send campaigns without changing billing or integrations.

## Owner-only actions are enforced on the server

Limited members already can't open billing or team Settings in Manager. The same owner-only rules also apply on the **API** and for **AI assistants** connected through [MCP](https://docs.cymbal.co/help/mcp).

That includes changing the plan or opening the billing portal, adding or removing payment methods, topping up text balance or changing auto recharge, removing a team member, changing a member's role, and inviting someone as an **Owner**. Limited members can still invite other Limited members.
