# How to Search for Specific Contacts

This page shows you how to find specific contacts in Cymbal

Find a specific contact by filtering your audience on something unique to them.

## How to find a contact

Pick a unique identifier for the contact, such as:

* Their phone number or email address (recommended)
* An event they attended
* A tag they're associated with

Go to the [Audience](https://manager.cymbal.co/audience) tab.
{% endstep %}

Select **Filter** on the right side.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Filter by your unique identifier, for example their email address.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Select **Done**. The contact you're looking for appears in the list.
