# Create short links

Create a short link from the Short Links page, and how that differs from a custom link shortener domain.

From **Web tools** → **Short Links**, you can create an organization **short link** without building a full landing page. Use this when you need a compact, trackable URL to share in texts, bios, or print.

## How to create a short link

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
Go to **Web tools** → [Short Links](https://manager.cymbal.co/short-links).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Select **Create**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Enter the destination URL and save. Cymbal opens the new short link's detail page.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

All your short links are listed on the Short Links page, where you can track clicks, see which contacts clicked, copy the link, download a QR code, or edit its destination. See [Short Links](https://docs.cymbal.co/help/landing-pages-and-forms/short-links).

Your short link uses Cymbal's short-link infrastructure (platform domain such as **cy.link**, or your custom shortener domain if configured — see below).

## Short link vs custom link shortener

These are easy to confuse:

| **Custom link shortener** | **Settings → Domain** | Point your own short domain (for example `t.yourvenue.com`) at Cymbal so shortened links use your brand |

{% hint style="info" %}
Custom link shorteners are especially useful in **Text** campaigns when you insert events with `/` — Cymbal can use your shortener for cleaner, trackable links. Creating a short link on the Short Links page is the separate "make one short URL" action.
