# Text balance

View your prepaid text balance, add balance, and turn on auto recharge in Settings → Text.

Owners can view the organization's prepaid **text balance**, **add balance**, and set up **auto recharge** under **Settings → Text**, so text sends keep going without interruption.

## How to view your text balance

Go to [Settings → Text](https://manager.cymbal.co/settings/text).

Find the **Text balance** section.

Check **Current balance** to see how much prepaid balance your organization has right now.

## How to add balance

Go to [Settings → Text](https://manager.cymbal.co/settings/text) and find **Text balance**.

Click **Add balance**.
{% endstep %}

Choose an amount ($500, $2,000, $5,000, or $10,000), or enter a custom amount in whole dollars. The minimum is **$10**. If your amount includes bonus credits, you'll see the bonus and the total balance you'll receive.

Click **Charge**, then confirm the charge. Nothing is charged until you confirm. The amount is charged to the **card on file** for your organization and added to your current balance, along with any bonus credits.

### If your card is declined

If your card is declined when you add balance, you'll see "Your card was declined. Contact your card provider or update your payment method on file." Contact your card provider, or update your card in [Billing settings](https://manager.cymbal.co/settings/billing), then try again.

If an auto recharge payment fails, **Text balance** shows an alert that the payment to refill your balance failed. Auto recharge stays paused until you add a valid card or update your payment method.

### Bonus credits on larger top-ups

When you add balance yourself, larger amounts include extra balance on top of what you pay:

| Amount you add | Bonus credits | Example                  |
| -------------- | ------------- | ------------------------ |
| Under $2,000   | None          | Pay $500, get $500       |
| $2,000 and up  | 5%            | Pay $2,000, get $2,100   |
| $5,000 and up  | 10%           | Pay $5,000, get $5,500   |
| $10,000 and up | 20%           | Pay $10,000, get $12,000 |

Bonus credits apply only when you add balance with **Add balance**. Auto recharges and balance added by the Cymbal team don't include a bonus. If your organization already has a discount on texts, bonus credits aren't offered. Your per-message rates stay the same; the bonus is extra balance.

## How to turn on auto recharge

Auto recharge tops up your balance automatically when it runs low, so you don't have to add balance by hand.

Turn on **Auto recharge**.

Set the **threshold**. When your balance drops below this amount, a recharge is triggered. The minimum threshold is **$5**.

Set the **recharge amount**, which is how much is added each time. The minimum recharge amount is **$10**.

Save. Recharges are charged to the card on file.

## Tips

* Turn on auto recharge so your balance never runs out in the middle of a campaign.
* Keep the card on file up to date so added balance and auto recharges go through.
